NASA says that the asteroid 2012 DA14 will pass within about 3.5 Earth radii of the Earth’s surface on February 15, 2013. It will pass inside the geosynchronous satellite ring, located about 35,800 kilometers (21,748 miles) above the equator. The impact energy is listed as 2.41 megatons of TNT. NASA says this asteroid is not Earth bound. The asteroid rates as a 0 on the Torino Scale impact hazard scale.
At its closest approach, the asteroid could be as close as 14,000 miles from the Earth. The small asteroid is estimated to be about 60 meters (about 200 feet) across. It is not likely to collide with any satellites. However, when it flies past Earth it will be under the influence of the Earth’s gravitational field. Passing close to the Earth could cause the asteroid’s orbit to change and bring it closer to Earth – or father away from Earth.
Telephone and television satellites are parked in geostationary orbits in the Clarke Belt at 22,500 miles with less than two degree spacing.
2012 DA14 will pass through our communication satellite belt twice: First time – On its way toward Earth and Second time – back through the belt again on its way out.
Angle at which the object 2012 DA14 enters and leaves the Clarke Belt will determine the possibility of taking out one or more satellites. It is unknown what other rocks 2012 DA14 may have traveling along with it towards Earth.
If this asteroid, 60 meters in diameter, will, if Earth’s gravity impacts its trajectory as some believe, strike North Africa with the force of 2000 nuclear weapons, a collision not unlike that of the Tunguska “event” of 1908.

Having said that they preach the 2nd amendment which is to what I understand to written on a “living document”.
I’m not sure the Americans who wrote this law and amendment factored in high capacity magazines , amour piercing rounds and an array of highly advanced devastating weaponry when they had more simpler weapons like cutlasses, rifles, pistols, muskets.
It should be up for debate but I wouldn’t know how to approach it.
On a side note in Australia, since our last massacre the gun ownership after the buy back and confiscation is guess what? The same as it was before the buy back. People want guns and they will get them.
Also, news has it that a US company has developed methods from printing ammunition and cartridges using 3D technology. A game changer indeed.

ive heard of this new 3d printing of bullets, not surprising, and less prone to error than the current machinery.

It’s pretty crazy Luke, some guy even printed a portable autonomous 3d printer that fits into a mini briefcase things.. Pretty incredible.
Its early days at the moment and the retail versions can only print plastics but experimental fabrication technology that can “print” human tissue on demand is being researched, but they did print a non-functioning kidney for a test.
Also docs already managed to print ibuprofen using reactionware.
Limitless potential these things they’re quite incredible but I wouldn’t buy one as yet. A couple more years and we’ll start seeing some incredible things happening with them.
Kind of reminds me of Star Trek when the Cap would ask for a cuppa and it would materialize out of thin air haha.
I think I only saw the cartridges for rifles being printed now that I think about it. The new laws in the US will only allow 10 rounds for any weapon. So print a larger clip/magazine and load as many bullets as you want into it.
Not sure they can print bullets yet I got ahead of myself my bad :/
But print your own clips and that’s all you’ll need to break a few newly introduced gun laws. I wonder what they charge is if they catch you?

I was saying that on Monday, seems a long time with no new content added to the site, probably in hibernation with all this harsh weather, problem is when to come out of hibernation lol! That’s probably why we have all gone off the asteroid topic again and on to why we are getting extreme weather conditions. I do think the weather is being manipulated to an extent and it has knock on effects but then again Earth has seen all types of extreme weather throughout history and much not recorded, only now do we have such technology to track conditions on every part of the globe at any time and now record properly. Maybe this is all normal but as you say Luke/Brett, we have increased in population and are spreading into potentially hazardous territory and are suffering as a result of this!
