Giant Diving Fireball Over Gulf of Mexico 2012

Fireball

Amazing footage of a giant  fireball over Gulf of Mexico, filmed on June 13, 2012.

It is  a Asteroid or Space Junk?

Or it is a harbinger of the August Perseid Meteor Shower. In 2012, the Earth is expected to encounter the “core” of the Perseid swarm, where meteoroid concentration is densest, on Aug. 12. This is when the Perseids put on their best show as the meteors appear to diverge from a patch of sky near the Double Cluster in Perseus.

  1. WELCOME BACK TTBTS! I’ve been lost without you! Anyway all this mars exploration is exciting, I’m looking forward to seeing how it progresses and to see some high quality pictures in colour, is going to be amazing!

  2. Why does the tail on this thing look curved at the top? is that a fish eye lens effect?

    • wondering the same thing V. if its not the lens, then it pulled up right after it came into the cameras eye right?

      hope all is well,

  3. The camera is sitting there, filming nothing and all of a sudden a fireball comes along? C’mon, obviously they were filming a test launch n execute or something, dont have the words, heh. Looks more like a rocket coming down and exploded on impact..

  4. I gotta agree on the rock theory… it had a long nose and the fire/smoke was to the rear of the object, I wonder if it hit it’s target ? it had a big flash considering it crashed below the camera’s horizen/view

  5. There is going to be a meteor shower August 11th maybe it started early. See article http://www.silearth.com

  6. I thought the same thing…
The bend/curve at the top of the screen…was it due to the lens or the object pulling up to hit with more of an angle? Additionally, w/ever I watch something like this…I oft wonder how and why a camera was recording “la playa” to get “lucky”. Too many unanswered questions…but it was a neat showing.

  7. I think this is fake

  8. I don’t think it is so much a fake as it is them trying to pass it off as anything but what it most likely is, a failed or test rocket launch … the angle of it’s descent and from the view of the flames coming from so far back of the objects just doesn’t look like a asteroids/fireball
