  2. I live in NZ and i this hasnt been in the news or even in the christchurch news papers or website, strange, im almost certain it isnt photoshopped as the photo looks very genuine, would like to know what caused it, jjust to let some people know, we dont get southern light phenomena in NZ that only occurs in the north pole, down here all we get is snow, rain, wind and sheep haha.

  5. Actually there was a BIG 2 page colour photo of this in the Christchurch Press newspaper, with interesting accompanying article on “earth lights” and possible quake warning signs.

  6. Ok folks, having devoted considerable time to these pictures, including investigating the possibility that Birdlings flat ionospheric heater may have generated these as Stimulated Electromagnetic Emmissions, I went back for a closer look at the original pics on Photobucket (link provided on Youtube)
THESE ARE FAKES. Sorry guys, they are a combination of laser pointer (for the red swirls) and torch or spotlight beamed onto a ceiling and reflected through a window, to give the impression of hovering discs. Photo no.6 in the slideshow is particularly revealing: note the reflection goes at right angles onto the wall, and over paintings mounted on the wall. Note the culprit washes their hands of blame “My Mom took these photos”, and finally, the date the pictures were initially published: APRIL FIRST !
